I use the Water Park mainly for running, as its a circular route, of approximately 14 km. There is a bike ride around the water, the bit we saw (we were on foot) was gravelly, so unsuitable for a road bike. There is a nice sandy play area for the younger kids, although this now needs more sand. £2.90 for two small scoops is expensive to say the least (it was cheaper and better at national trust place nearby!!!!). It's meant to be a nice thing from a good supplier, and yes it's better than the average but nothing special, but they serve it in the cheapest cones known to man. Maybe instead of having two staff serving one customer and having six others waiting (while one stood around waiting for the other), think about get using some initiative and server more than one person at a time. Staff that ignore you, don't smile, have no concept of getting things moving and the information about the area is old, damaged and the IT kit not working. My biggest issue is the visitors centre, where I have to say you don't feel welcome. GREAT DAY Need to be a bit active as there are some challenging hills if your taking the bike ride.Īs some outside space it's nice to go and get some fresh air. There's a large open space looking onto Grafham Water. With a cafe and a watersport / bike hire facility. But we did stop off on numerous occasions. Suggest you take a longer tariff as we struggled to get back in 8 hours. We were hoping for a gentle ride back but we chose the lower tariff. Kids had kites while we rustled up the food. Barbecue was in a large picnic area about 2/3rd round. Take some binoculars, that's a must, if you like wildlife. Water birds of all varieties easily seen on route. A few hills and rough patches but it's fun challenging the getting ever faster kids.

I would suggest you go anti clockwise as that's the more senic route for your start. We took a throw away barbecue set with us. Decent enough price for the quality of bike. If you pick the right day this is a glorious way to spend a day.
